How to choose a good trademark?
Finding a company or product name is quite an adventure!
Creating a new trademark is often more complicated than just brainstorming with friends and a glass of wine. The trademark is used to identify and distinguish your goods and services from those of competitors, it positions you in the market.
The brand you choose should be strategically considered, tie into the overall vision, and reflect the company's mission and values. The brand must also be eye-catching, memorable, original and unique, but above all, it must be available.
It is used to identify and distinguish the original source of one party's products and/or services from another.
It's not enough to have a beautiful, coherent brand. The creation process will have been useless and will have to be repeated if the mark is not registrable or if you do not have the right to use it in the markets of interest.
A good brand must respect the following elements, it must be:
- Unique and original
- Relevant
- Simple and memorable
- Legally available and protectable
- Bilingual and international (preferred)
